the price of the violin is completely irelevant. If you play aviolin and you like how it feels and sounds thats the violin foryou. The only reason to buy a more expensive instrument is because you tried everything cheaper and it all sounds and feels like crap.

im sorry to say everything you played sucks.Maybe its you playing.but if this is the kind of sound i get with that much money,i think i should find some other instrument to learn.

It does sound like it would cut better in a mix with the god pillar while leaving room for the lower registered instruments. Would be interesting to hear an orchestra with god pillar modded violins vs normal violins in a controlled experiment live situation.

Generally, top instruments are - when not in use - stored in a kind of couveuse, a temperature and humidity controlled environment. Wood works and when the storage is insufficient some problems might occur. Another issue is the glue. Nothing is forever and certainly the violins maker's glue isn't. In early times, the instrument maker made mostly the glue himself, cows, hoofs, rabbit skin, you name it. Anyway, the body shape of this 'Dellinger' instrument is remarkable, very full, lots of room for the soundcirculation. Quite a beautiful instrument.

The real story is that Paganini gambled his Strad away and had no instrument to play on. From someone het got an instrument made by Joseph Guarneri. Since then, Guarneri played only this instrument which belongs now to the community of Genoa.

I would use Titebond Original and it will be stronger than any hyde glue and can still be undone with heat.

No, as far as I know het went to Austria for the topblades, maple did come from the Balkan - As far as I know. Not much different present day. I am not sure if this is true as there were many suppliers for the sought after Spruce. (Pinus Sylvestrus).
